Duration: 5.0 daysThis course teaches experienced HACMP professionals the latest features in HACMP and how to implement HACMP in complex configurations.The course content can be divided into two distinct components:The first component of this course illustrates how to relate, evaluate, implement and test the newest enhancements to IBM's HACMP for AIX clustering product on IBM eServer pSeries and RS/6000.The second component of the course explores some of the more advanced topics relating to IBM's HACMP for AIX implementations.AudienceExperienced AIX system administrators and support personnel who will be responsible for the administration, maintenance and implementation of HACMP/ES clusters on IBM eServer pSeries and RS/6000 systems running AIX.ObjectiveThe objectives of this class are to review all the new features of the latest version of HACMP/ES and to provide the student with advanced information that will be useful when building and/or managing complex HA configurations.After completing this course, students will have advanced knowledge on the following subject material with regards to a HACMP cluster: * New features and enhancements in HACMP 4.x * Integrating applications with HACMP * Enhancing security in a highly available cluster * Developing effective scripts for: * Pre-event * Post-event * Event recovery * Error notification * Integration of HACMP with LDAP * Making a DCE server highly available (as an application) * Using GPFS and HACMP to achieve a clustered file system * Dynamic routing and HACMP * Virtual IP with AIX5LKey topics * New Functionality in HACMP/ES 4.x * Integrating Applications with HACMP * Enhancing security in a highly available cluster * Developing effective scripts for: * Integration of HACMP with LDAP * Making a DCE server highly available * Using GPFS and HACMP to achieve a clustered file system * Dynamic Routing * Virtual IP with AIXL5Pre-requisitesStudents must have at least two years commercial experience supporting and administering HACMP. Students must also have prior education equivalent to the courses AU54 and either AU57 or AU59.Students should also have experience with: * IBM eServer pSeries and RS/6000 hardware * The AIX operating system to system administrator level * The principles of good system management * TCP/IP communications concepts and tools * LVM concepts and configuration * SCSI and SSA disk subsystems * SNMP concepts * HACMP planning and installationKorn Shell script programming skills
